Director and Head of Consultancy and Research from Knight Frank Singapore, Alice Tan, told the audience that Singaporeans were keen on investing in Myanmar’s real estate sector because of the country’s strategic location in Southeast Asia and the room for growth in the market. “Singaporeans are very keen to invest in Myanmar because not only Myanmar at strategic location which offers access to China, India and ASEAN neighbours, serving a combined market close to 3 billion people but also knows that there are rooms to grow in real estate sector,” Tan said. The event also told professionals about the importance of being able to search for an apartment online as well as being able to view photos of apartment before scheduling a viewing. More advanced techniques included expanding a company’s Search Engine Optimization standings, social network activities and advertising networks for a company’s products. “Digital advertising was the fastest-growing category in 2014, with a 16.1 percent increase in spending. This growth is forecasted to continue from now till 2019,” Lewis Ng, managing director of PropertyGuru said.

SEANET launched the new Satellite to give Faster Broadband Internet to Myanmar

IT services firm Southeastasia Net Technologies Myanmar Co Ltd (SEANET) has launched a new satellite network to bring broadband internet to Myanmar. The network is known as a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) and the company will be looking for clients such as NGOs, banks and cellular operators to provide a dedicated stream of data for their customers.

“VSAT delivered internet will play a pivotal role in developing Myanmar’s ICT infrastructure,” U Pyone Maung Maung, chairman and managing director of SEANET Myanmar, said.
